Relationship problems at home and school have always existed. But only in recent underachievement and misbehavior give teachers a reason to insist that a child who “interferes with everything in the classroom,” took the drug Ritalin. This drug is many people mistakenly refer to the group of psychotropic drugs.

According to parents, faced with this problem, some educators say the Israeli Ritalin magic bullet by which any non-standard or too mobile child can be converted to managed.

Situation in which the school believes that disobedience should be treated with a tablet having an impact on the central nervous system, cause for concern and many questions about the legitimacy and viability of such practices. However, Ritalin has been used successfully for many years to solve problems with concentrating, restless helping to realize their potential and avoid blame from others.

What is Ritalin? Tell me, what is at stake.

When we talk about Ritalin (RITALIN), we’re talking about medicine, which is given to children with attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity (adopted by the Russian acronym for ADHD, the literature in English or Hebrew is used reducing ADHD – Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder).

The problem of impaired concentration and hyperactivity in children exists, and it is quite serious. But it is totally unacceptable that teachers in schools or kindergarten teacher told her parents that the child should be given some medicine. To do this, there are medical specialists.

Ritalin, like any other drug – whether it akamol or cough medicine – must be prescribed by doctors in situations where the drug is shown. Personally, I have repeatedly emphasized in conversations with teachers that they have no right to talk with the parents say, “Your child should take the medication.” Although, unfortunately, such cases happen. This, of course, speaks about the crisis of the education system in Israel. The fact that classes are overcrowded and that teachers are not qualified – not always, but it happens – and unable to cope with their children.
